Why Total Prana?

 

Prana (प्राण, prāṇa) is the Sanskrit word for “life force” or vital principle. It is the essence of life, vitality, spirit, energy, and Divine Love.

What We Offer: Yoga, Yoga, and more Yoga.  When we say the word “Yoga”, however, we do not simply mean asana (physical exercise).  Although the asana is critical to the practice, it is considered a way to prepare the body and mind for the experience of meditation.

We specialize in the following styles:  Power Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Restorative/Gentle, Ashtanga Primary Series, Yoga Nidra, Yin Yoga.

Owner and Lead Teacher:  Kim McCann, PhD, ERYT-500, YACEP, Yoga therapist in training.

The founder/owner holds a PhD in research psychology and was introduced to yoga and Tai Chi in the 1980’s through her practice of Shaolin KungFu.  She became a student of Ashtanga in 2001 and has practiced various forms of yoga asana ever since. Her first in-depth Yoga Teacher Certification was in 2004 under the tutelage of Ganga White and Tracey Rich at the White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara, California.  She is RYT certified with Yoga Alliance and has completed over 1000-hours of yoga teacher training, and over 3000 hours of yoga teaching experience. Kim is an Army veteran and has taught Yoga to active duty military members, veterans, first responders, athletes, corporate clients as part of Corporate Wellness Programs, children, seniors, and anyBODY with a desire to move and breathe. She is also a continuing education provider.
